King of the Giantdowns (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Birthright Adventure Accessory, No 3142)
Published in Paperback by TSR Hobbies (July, 1997)
Average review score:

Another great supplement......from a cancelled product line. Birthright was one of TSR's most innovative settings, so I was startled that it was cancelled after less than 3 years. There were misfires (a couple lackluster adventures and the seemingly endless barrage of realm books) but this supplement proves just how good Birthright could be. The spectacular glimpse into a distant past when noble Giants ruled the land is worth the price alone.

Average review score:

Easy on the eyes; a little tougher on the brain. This series is easy to read and laid out conveniently. The puzzles are challenging without being insane. These are my mom's current favorites, and I would recommend them to fans of the crossword puzzles appearing in the NY Times or LA Times.

The Lidek Revolution
Published in Paperback by Creative Bound (01 July, 1993)
Average review score:

Too real ... the most thought provoking book I've ever read!Have you have ever wondered what it would be like to know
absolutely whether someone is lying or not? Mr. Stark does
a masterful job at answering this question...and more. The
gift to humanity - a fool proof lie detector the size of a
wrist watch. The catch - small packages do not always
contain good things as illustrated by the disturbing results
of Mr. Stark's gift to the World come to fruition. His
insight into the human psyche, realities, consequences and
ultimate mayhem caused by this seemingly harmless little
device is frightening. This is truly a testimony to excellent research in fiction writing. Stark reminds us
that we have the technology...but are we ready for it? Can
we handle...THE TRUTH!

Men in Blackface: True Stories of the Minstrel Show
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (November, 2001)
Average review score:

Pop culture archeology holding a mirror up for the presentThis is probably the finest book on the minstrel show which I have encountered. Many threads involving race, history and popular art are connected, giving some new slants on this curious, but still very resonant, cultural phenomena.

The Minaret of Djam: An Excursion in Afghanistan.
Published in Hardcover by Transatlantic Arts (September, 1971)
Average review score:

The most poignant travel account that I have readFreya Stark had an opportunity to visit this remote archaeological site when it was still possible to travel there. This book is the zenith of her prodigious work in that Afghanistan has always been associated with a remoteness that is difficult to describe. The difficulty of her travel to Ghor Province is a story that she could recount in last years.
